Prof. Dr. H. Muladi, S.H. (1943–2020) remains an inspiration among Indonesian legal experts. Born in Solo on May 26, 1943, he failed both elementary and junior high school. However, his strong determination led him to graduate from high school and be accepted into the Faculty of Law at Diponegoro University (Undip), Semarang.

At Undip, Muladi was active in the GMNI (National Student Association) and the Student Regiment, and achieved national awards in judo and karate. His career soared: he became a lecturer and then Rector of Undip, Minister of Justice and Minister of State Secretary from 1998–1999 during the Soeharto-Habibie transition era, Supreme Court Justice (2000–2001), and Governor of the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas) from 2005–2011.
Known for his firm stance on justice and human rights, Muladi stood 1.80 meters tall and spoke powerfully, yet was a humanitarian at heart. His four daughters followed in his footsteps in law and academia.

Prof. Muladi passed away on December 31, 2020, at the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital in Jakarta. His legacy: proving that youthful failure can lead to national achievement through willpower and integrity.
