Bali Human Trafficking !!!  Massive Online Scam Hub Uncovered in Kedonganan, Kuta: 27 People Detained, Signs of Human Trafficking Emerge

KEDONGANAN, KUTA,NETTInpo. Com
The scale of cybercrime operations in Bali is raising alarm. Police have uncovered a suspected large, organized online scam hub at a guest house in the Kedonganan area, Kuta, Badung. The site is believed to be a cross-border scam center targeting victims abroad by impersonating international law enforcement.

*Building Rented for Rp150 Million/Month, 9 Starlink Units on the Roof*
Police findings show the two-story building with 21 rooms was rented by a Chinese national since late March 2026. The rent was a staggering Rp150 million per month, signaling a high-value operation.

To support the scheme, perpetrators installed 9 Starlink satellite internet units on the roof. The ultra-fast connection made the network hard to trace through local providers while ensuring stable lines for scamming overseas victims.

*Modus: Impersonating FBI and U.S. Prosecutors*
Officers seized fake paraphernalia mimicking U.S. law enforcement agencies. Items included jackets marked _Federal Bureau of Investigation_ (FBI), flags, badges, and symbols of the U.S. Department of Justice.

The tactic: suspects made video calls to victims abroad, posed as U.S. police or prosecutors, and extorted money under threats of arrest or fabricated legal charges. Victims were pressured to transfer funds to “close the case.”

27 People Detained, Signs of Human Trafficking
Police detained 27 people in the raid, including digital fraud operators. Early investigation points to human trafficking (TPPO). Several individuals allegedly had their passports confiscated, movements restricted, and were forced to work without proper pay.

Mastermind Still Being Hunted
The case doesn’t stop at the operator level. Police are digging into the master network and the involvement of other parties, including the building owner and leasing agents. The key question: who is the big boss behind a Rp150 million-per-month hub?

The WartaGlobal Fact-Finding Team stressed it will keep monitoring to ensure arrests don’t end with low-level actors, but reach the main players and transnational network.

*Beware of “International Police” Scams*
The public is urged to stay alert to increasingly sophisticated online scams. Red flags include video calls from “international police,” threats of arrest, and sudden demands for payment via bank transfer or crypto.

If you get a suspicious call, hang up, block the number, and report it to police. Never send money or personal data.
